RxNorm November 2018 Release

RxNorm November 2018 Release. NLM Tech Bull. 2018 Nov-Dec;(425):b1.

November 06, 2018 [posted]

The November full monthly release of RxNorm is available for download as of Monday, November 5, 2018, from the RxNorm Download Files page. The November release is consistent with the 2018AB Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) Metathesaurus Release Files.

As a reminder, beginning in 2019, RxNorm will no longer contain Veterans Health Administration’s National Drug File-Reference Terminology (NDF-RT) data. However, the RxNorm November and December 2018 releases will include NDF-RT. Please plan accordingly.

There are no plans to include Medication Reference Terminology (MED-RT) in RxNorm; however, MED-RT is included in the UMLS Metathesaurus along with RxNorm and its source vocabularies. MED-RT is also included in several RxNorm API resources. For more information about MED-RT, see Introduction to MED-RT as the Replacement for NDF-RT.
