LinkOut Library Submission Utility: Publication Date Type Feature

LinkOut Library Submission Utility: Publication Date Type Feature. NLM Tech Bull. 2012 Mar-Apr;(385):b9.

March 27, 2012 [posted]

A new feature has been added to the LinkOut Library Submission Utility. Librarians are now able to select one of the following publication date types for online holdings information entered into the Submission Utility:

  • pdat - publication date, both print and electronic dates will be included (default)
  • ppdat - print publication date only
  • epdat - electronic publication date only

Librarians should remember to confirm that a journal has electronic publication dates in PubMed before selecting "epdat."

This feature may be especially helpful for journal titles that have PubMed citations with electronic publication dates that have a year value that is different from the year value in the print publication date.
