Senior Investigator Teresa Przytycka, PhD, Inducted into AIMBE College of Fellows

Teresa Przytycka, PhD, Senior Investigator at the National Library of Medicine, part of the National Institutes of Health, has been inducted to the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows.

Dr. Przytycka was nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the AIMBE College of Fellows for her pioneering contributions to algorithmic methods in network biology, gene regulation, and cancer research and for her leadership in bioinformatics.

“Election to the AIMBE College of Fellows is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to a medical and biological engineer,” said NLM Acting Director Stephen Sherry, PhD. “NLM is proud to have esteemed investigators like Dr. Przytycka contributing to NLM’s research program by addressing a broad range of biomedical information challenges.”

With more than 22 years of research experience at NLM, Dr. Przytycka leads a research team in NLM’s Division of Intramural Research. Her research focuses on developing computational methods for systems biology to advance cancer research, gene regulation, high-throughput data analysis, and other key areas of genetic research and drug design.
