The National Information Center on Health Services Research and Health Care Technology (NICHSR) and the History of Medicine at times collaborate to collect the stories and experiences of innovators and leaders in the field of health services research. Materials include individual oral and video interviews, a historical video for use in training health science librarians and HSR students, and acquisition of pertinent personal papers collections.

Medicare and Medicaid 50th Anniversary: On July 30, 2015 the Medicare and Medicaid programs celebrated their 50th Anniversary. Many federal offices and private organizations celebrated the anniversary by examining the history of the programs and forecasting what they saw, at that moment in time, as their future.
