- A Medicine of Their Own: The Stories of American Women Healers is a module written for college and university instructors who teach women's history and literature of the nineteenth century, African American history during the nineteenth century, gender studies, and the general history and literature of the United States during that period. This module is also intended for those teaching medical humanities courses in undergraduate and medical school programs—especially literature and medicine and medical history courses.
